Robyn's Posterous
I love the HD camera on the iPhone 4. It may not be the best camera in the world, but it's always with me, no matter where I'm at. I've recently begun a blog -- Robyn's Posterous -- mostly devouted to the stuff I photograph with this camera.

I agree. Both point and clicks that I own and my two HD video cameras now sit on the shelf...I've gone for convenience over quality...not that the iPhone camera isn't great quality...I've captured some amazing stuff, but I definitely have found that having something that's very good and small trumps having something that's the best when it comes to lugging around a 3lbs $800 HD Canon camera.

Robyn, do you know if that symbol has any significance? It looks like writing. Or perhaps I am seeing meaning where there is none.

Many professional photographers have been asked what is the best camera. The best answer I've ever heard is, "the one you have with you."

I second that the best camera is "the one you have with you." I'm actually quite impressed with the quality of the iPhone 4's camera. The only thing I really miss is squashing the depth of field for a more abstract, blurry background on certain subjects. Maybe one day.
But the more I treat my camera is something less "sacred" – if you will – the more I use it and the more pictures I take. Yeah, I hit delete a lot more but I enjoy being surprised by my photos as much as really preparing for a shot.
