Blue Dragon

photo copyright ©2007 the doubtful guest

Dragons really do live! Of course, all you long horse disbelievers will probably deny the existence of this little beauty (without a second's thought), but I assure you, it is oh-so-very real. And strange. And blue.

It's real name? The pelagic sea slug. For more info, and to look at larger versions of the above great photo, visit the doubtful guest on flickr.

Awesome, it seems the more excessively beautiful and interesting something is, the more likely it is to exist.

Thanks for the memories! When I was quite young, I took an otherwise forgettable trip to Miami, and these things were washing up on th beach. They're only an inch or two long, but vivid blue.

That thing almost looks like an alien or something. Love the blue colors.

I would have never guessed it was just a slug.
