Old Tech

Telesm

This bizarre (and grossly oversized) alarm telephone looks like it's about 100 years old. It never fails to catch my attention when in the Paris Musee d'Orsay RER stop: I always wonder if it even works. And why it has to be so big!

Click on the above photo for a wallpaper-sized version (though I apologize for the graininess of the photo: it was dark).

i really like this. textures colours and the total weirdness of the hole thing. i do find lots of train stations very fascinating. i remember in Amsterdam there was an old one probably made around the 18 hundreds. it was all made in steel and had huge metal bolts holding everything in place. i really do like this kind of stuff you know (:
i was talking to my dad about you one day and i think you have influenced me in such a huge way from when i was little. One of the first games i ever played was riven, i think that universe has made its mark on my imagination and even way of thinking. I even have some old drawings from years of making my own universe with its on symbols and design all with the riven world in mind.
you have been my hero for so many years, i just dint know your name when i was younger.
anyhow. the reason i think i liked these rusty, rough looking things is because of you and your brothers world. i feel you are a part of me, but i guess i am just a part of you, some how.

Interesting. It reminds me of a time gone by when life was not very happy.
