The ever-expanding house (click to enlarge)

If a house somehow reflects the spirits of those who dwell within, then I'm sure the people living here are complex and endlessly interesting (and maybe a little weathered around the edges)! I recently saw this place while wandering around the big island of Hawaii;Map_bigi_2 we practically screeched to a stop while I hopped out and began to (unashamedly) try to find a decent photo. This was the best photo I manage to come up with.

This map roughly shows the location of the mystery house. If one is on HWY 19, coming from Hilo and about to enter Waimea, the house is on the left.

At some point, I'll have to put all my Hawaii vernacular photos up. There's a lot of them!

I thought that picture looked quite familiar! You'll find many homes in that state on the West Side of Oahu... out in Ewa, or further out in Waianae.

Robyn! Hey! We saw that house a few months ago when we were there. It was on the road North on the way out of Hilo, yeah?

This is very interesting and is sparking my curiousity. Are there any other photos of this home? It reminds me of the book House of Leaves, even though that house was actually expanding on the inside rather than the outside. Regardless, more images would be keen, if they're available. ^_^

I have more photos of the house but they're very similar. Nothing any better than this one. Brian... I put up a map so you can see exactly where the house is. It was so totally great. It reminded me of the house in Spirited Away (a bit). But it was more gritty!
